How I Capture Fleeting Notes in Obsidian
My workflow for Zettelkasten system
Fleeting notes are the starting point of the Zettelkasten system. They are notes taken quickly and stored somewhere to be processed later.
Some fleeting notes are discarded, while others will eventually become the heart of the Zettelkasten system, aka. Permanent notes.
It is said that an average person has somewhere around 60,000 thoughts a day.
Staggering number.
Yet, if you try to recall any of those thoughts from the previous day, you’d have a hard time.
This is why fleeting notes are crucial, especially for creative individuals.
Capturing ideas and thoughts is paramount.
This is the concept of fleeting notes. Capturing ideas before they disappear into thin air.
Ideas strike at the most unexpected times: in the shower, during a walk, while gazing out the window. When the brain is free and not focused on anything specific, that’s when creative fuel flows, and ideas come and go.
Maybe you just read a book, and your brain connects it to an idea from another book you read before. You’re playing with your pet and get an idea. You’re stuck in traffic and your head is going crazy with…
