AI plugins for obsidian

The integration of AI in order to enhance the note-taking experience is gaining momentum. Mem, Napkin, and Notion are some examples of note-taking apps using AI.

In this article, we will explore community plugins that can help you integrate the power of AI inside obsidian. These tools can help you boost your productivity, and creativity and add value to your note-taking process.

GPT-3 Notes

GPT-3 Notes is the most useful plugin for obsidian if you want to use OpenAI’s GPT-3 model. It can be used to create notes based on your prompts. And the better you are at promoting, the better your results will be.

All you need to do is install the plugin, add the API token, and embrace the power of the language model. You can add custom prefixes and postfixes in the plugin’s option in order to make the process more efficient.

To use the plugin, you will need to either use the hotkey, command from command palette or the ribbon icon.

A pop-up like this will open. Here you can select your prefixes and postfixes. Or you can write the prompt from scratch. You can choose the temperature as well.

In the language model, temperature refers to the randomness or creativity of the model. The higher the number, the higher will be the creativity. 0 temperature will result in very conservative results while 10 will result in very creative results.

Tokens in simple terms can be referred to as words. 1000 is believed to be approximately 750 words.

You also have the option to change the OpenAI model. The latest model will give you the best results but will cost you more.

Here’s the result of the prompt that I gave above where I asked AI to write some points on how to take notes while reading books on kindle.
